I have been pretty busy lately in my shop, which is great! I broke my previous record of 5 sales in one month to 8!! I really hope the numbers keep going up! So it has been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to share something. My husband and I had our traditional 4th of July party this year, and I decided it was time to clear a couple pins off my Pinterest board. There are a ton of them!! You may know the feeling!
So I used a few decorating ideas which were cute in theory, but as for an outside party... not so functional... so, I won't bore you with those pics. But I also tried a new recipe, and that I HAVE to share!! These are AMAZING!! If you are someone that loves caramel apples, grapes, caramel, or cute appetizers... you may want to give these a try!! They are so easy!
The title was Crunchy Green Grapes and all you do, is take your clean dry grapes, dip them in caramels melted with a little cream (I used regular 2%milk), then dip them in finely chopped, salted peanuts. They are so addicting. Like little tiny caramel apples....but better..! So, if you try them I hope you love them as much as my family and I did!!

Spending this beautiful Friday in my studio. I'm working on a few orders, one custom order for a Chicago Bears pilsner... being from Michigan.. I may upset a few fans :-) I posted this glass on my Facebook page, and along a trail of "likes" I received an order for a Bears glass!
I think its just amazing how my work can be seen by so many people by using Facebook, Etsy, Twitter, and even here on my blog! Though I don't get too many views here, it is still fun to do and hopefully someday will lead to more views! Maybe I just need to be more interesting...? I'll work on that :-)

Some new items!
Summer school program started today... Oh how I wish I had more time off. I did add a few more items to my shop though! I also got a rush order for an engagement gift.. Ill have to share photos when I'm done with it. I have also spent a lot of time getting pieces together to start my upcycling projects... I can't wait to start those!!
This is one glass I'm very excited about! I have always wanted to show some support for our troops! I really like how they turned out!
I've also added a new vintage item! These are so fun,I love them! The deep green color is amazing!
They were a hidden treasure in my Aunt's crawl space! I'm so glad they came my way! I split them into sets so I could keep a set for myself. That's the hard part with selling vintage... not keeping all your treasures for yourself!

My little helper
I am having a wonderful vacation so far! We have my niece here for a visit for a few days, and I thought it would be a lot of fun for her to make her very own tea party set! She's 2 and a half and she loves tea parties! What little girl (or big girl) don't! :-) So I got her all of her own supplies.
She just couldn't wait to get started!!
She picked all her colors and did everything herself! When she was done, she just had to add Pixie dust... which you may call glitter paint... :-)
The set is adorable! However, it's in the oven right now, so I can't share the finished project... but, when its done, I will definitely include the photo next time! We had so much fun! She even hums while she paints! Cutest thing ever!! I may have to hire her soon...

Summer Vacation
I am finally on summer vacation!! Well, I work summer school, but still... I get two weeks off, and I'm thrilled about that! I have some big plans for the next two weeks! Lets see if I can accomplish at least half of them...
I have just a couple orders to fill from my Etsy shop, those are almost done... hopefully I get more soon :-) I am also working on a couple new designs... a nautical themed glass and a peacock feather glass. I have made a peacock one in the past but I'm changing my design a bit...
It's so hard sometimes to come up with new ideas, and I want to keep expanding my shop! So I have had a thought... upcycling! I see a lot of cool ideas around, and I though... I can do that! Every two weeks I participate in an online auction and that's where I find a lot of my vintage treasures. And, sometime I get lot boxes that... to be honest, are not what I expect. So, I had the thought to try some upcycling.. maybe start with some jewelry trays, snack plates, dessert stands... I don't know.. I guess Ill see where it takes me :-) Stay tuned!!

It has been a busy month for me! I have had 5 sales in my Etsy shop! It may not sound like much, but for me, that's great!! I hope it continues, it has given me quite a motivation boost! I started some new designs, on top of finishing up my orders! Here is one of my favorite new designs! Ombre candle holders!! I had some custom paint left over, and this is what it turned into! I just hate wasting paint...
Here is another fun new design I tried out... was a luau themed glass... it's supposed to mean, 'Party til your coconuts come off' I haven't listed this one yet.. I haven't received enough feedback yet... I'm trying to decide if I should write out the word coconuts or if its clear enough with picture of the coconut bra... hummm... still have to think about that one... but here it is :-)
I hope to showcase a big project I've been working on soon.... I should be finishing it up this weekend.. unless I get another order.. which would be great!! I guess we will see :-)Etsy shop

Custom made Monday!
I just finished up a custom order for an old friend who now lives in sunny Florida! I love doing custom orders and trying new ideas, and making them come to life! I especially love sending previews to my customers, and finding that I made exactly what they wanted!
Here are the three that she ordered
The first one, is for her husband. He was really into roller-skating, once upon a time, and received trophies and medals in competitions. Here are pictures of the front and the back.

The second glass was for her mother in law, who loves to visit them, sit on the beach, and enjoy the ocean... who wouldn't!! The image continues all around the glass, with palm trees all around... You can almost hear the waves hit the ocean and feel the warm sand...
The last glass was just for her. She and her family are vegetarians, and she leans more toward a vegan lifestyle, she asked to have a glass covered with fruits and vegetables and this is what I came up with... she loved it!
These were so much fun, I cant wait until my next special order!!

A custom order swirl bridal set. I offer these in any color, so they tend to be popular :-)
Another set I just finished, I just love the way these turned out! They have a light pink base, with a gold lace overlay. The texture is amazing! I see these fitting perfectly in a vintage or rustic themed wedding! Or for any special occasion! They will be added to my Etsy shop soon!
I'm still working on my new summer glasses, my first margarita glasses!! Coming soon!!

Welcome to My Shards of Glass!
I guess I will take a minute to introduce myself... my name is Krystal and I run a Etsy shop called My Shards of Glass It started out as a hobby, to relieve stress, ease the mind... when I started showing my creations to friends and family, they started ordering! It has been quite a journey so far, and it has only just begun!!
Around January this year I added a vintage area to my shop. This is so much fun! I really enjoy my treasure hunting days! I try to get items I think are unique and beautiful... and to be honest, a lot of them stay with me... :-)
Here is a look at some of my painted creations, most of these are new for spring...(the flamingo is my favorite, but don't tell the others)

Though it is really hard to pick a favorite from my vintage area... yeah, way too hard... these two are tied for first!
The first picture is an adorable pitcher and basin set that measures only 5 inches high, it is so cute! That one almost didn't make it to listing!
The second picture is a set of teacups that have amazing detail! The pattern on these glasses is called Kings crown, and I think they are perfect for any princess!
I want to say thank you for stopping by, feel free to visit my shop and have a look around!
